Tokyo-based Medicom Toy created this toy. In 2006, Karl Lagerfeld, who died in February 2019, designed this Bearbrick. This sculpture was first seen in Chanel window displays around the world before being released in a limited-edition of 1000 pieces in 2007 for the Love Is Big, Love Is Bearbrick charity event to benefit the Hong Kong Blood Cancer Foundation. This Bearbrick is the most elusive and most collectible Bearbrick on the market, wearing Chanel's distinctive strand of white pearls, a tweed black coat, and a Camellia flower. Its exclusivity appeals to collectors of Urban Art, fashion, and luxury goods.
Bearbricks are a type of toy that can be collected. Blocky arms and legs, as well as a typical bear head, serve as a blueprint for these bears. Medicom Toy, based in Tokyo, designed and manufactured Bearbricks. The majority are made of plastic, but as the company and its partnerships have grown, other materials such as wood and metal have been included. Bearbircks are available in sizes ranging from 50% (smallest) to 1000 percent (biggest) (largest). Bearbricks are all limited edition and only come out once in a while. They are divided into four different series or types: basic, standard, artist, and secret.
