The Los Angeles-based graffiti artist Alec Monopoly is noted for his subversive appropriation of iconic pop figures and distinctive representation of the Monopoly board game mascot image. The artist satirically merges Pop Art with cultural critique and social commentary by merging components of the game's characters with financially catastrophic newspaper clippings. When you want to sell a "interesting picture," all too often the gallery where you purchased it has either lost interest in it or has "just taken on half a dozen works by that artist" and is unable to help you.
